Starting from a modest 7,500 sq. ft. workshop with a small team of skilled artisans, Alankaram has evolved into one of the country’s most extensive solid wood furniture manufacturers, operating from a state-of-the-art 200,000 sq. ft. facility. With a diverse portfolio of 800+ unique designs and over 5,000 SKUs, Alankaram is recognized for its ability to fuse aesthetics with functionality. Our journey began when architect and urban designer Anupriya Sahu noticed a significant gap in India’s furniture market: the lack of highly skilled artisans to deliver contemporary furniture designs rooted in Indian tradition. Along with her husband and marketing expert Dhwanit Parmar, Anupriya set out to fill this gap by creating a furniture brand that combines indigenous craftsmanship with luxurious comfort and modern design.
In 2013, Alankaram started as an interior design studio, but by 2015, it transitioned into a full-fledged furniture manufacturing studio. Anupriya’s visionary design sense, coupled with Dhwanit’s business acumen, has shaped Alankaram into a brand trusted by global corporations such as Microsoft, JPMC, Google, and high-profile celebrities like Ranbir Kapoor. Alankaram has garnered international recognition, earning a spot on the Dezeen Awards 2022 studio longlist and being featured in prestigious publications such as Architecture+Design, Elle Decor, Hindustan Times, and UK’s Interior Designer Magazine.

The name "Alankaram" is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning "the art of decoration."
